The boarding school was established in 1979 as a special boarding school for children in need of special education. On May 12, 2021, it was granted college status and transformed into the "Sairam Special Boarding School-College Complex." All students are admitted based on the decision of the municipal and regional "Pedagogical Medical Psychological Commission."
